Kardamena (Greek: Καρδάμενα), is a small Greek village 7 km from Kos Island International Airport at Antimachia, situated mid-way along the south coast of the island of Kos. Once a small fishing village, it has emerged as one of the most popular summer destinations, especially for British tourists, over the past two decades, offering scores of pubs and restaurants, bars and night clubs and water sports facilities. It reported a population of 1,783 inhabitants at the 2001 census and has a land area of 35.150 km².

Kardamaina is built on the site of the ancient settlement of Alasarna. During the 2nd century BC, Alasarna was an important urban center with one thousand citizens, to whom the slaves and the metics should be added.

The archaeological excavations have brought to light some impressive ruins. A Temple of Apollo, an extensive Early Christian settlement (from the very few known in Greece), as well as four basilicas that belong to the same period. Also many stone objects of everyday use (millstones, tools, vases, vessels, etc.), mostly made of volcanic and sedimentary rocks have been recovered so far.

SunBeam Beach Bar: September on the Beach!!!

  1. Beach weddings are my absolute favorite! There's just something so romantic and effortless about exchanging vows with sand between your toes and the ocean as your backdrop. 💒🌊

I actually attended a wedding earlier this year at Barefoot In The Bar in Speightstown, Barbados, and it was honestly the most beautiful ceremony I've ever witnessed. The couple wanted something casual and intimate — nothing fancy or formal — and this place delivered perfectly.

The setup was stunning in its simplicity. Chairs arranged on the sand, a simple arch decorated with tropical flowers, and the Caribbean Sea stretching out behind them. The ceremony was timed for sunset, and watching them say their vows as the sky turned gold and pink was genuinely emotional — there wasn't a dry eye on that beach.

Afterward, we had a reception right there on the sand. Custom catering with fresh local food, a full open bar with their famous Rum Punch and 18 cocktails, and live steel pan music that got everyone dancing barefoot under the string lights.

The team handled everything — setup, food, drinks, music. The couple didn't stress about a single thing. If you're dreaming of a barefoot beach wedding in Barbados, I can't recommend this place enough. 🏝️💍
